Birth Doula Services

No 2 births are ever alike. Each one unfolds in it’s own unique way, and so does the support you receive from me as your doula. My birth doula package includes:

A complimentary 30 minute consultation as an opportunity to get to know each other and see if my services match your needs. Your relationship with your doula can be very intimate and that tends to flow better if you like me! For me, its also important I "fall in love" with my clients ....this work is unlike any other job and at the end of the day it's the love that keeps me going.

2-4 prenatal visits that usually take place in your own home. They each last between 1.5-2 hours and this is when we get into the good stuff! We will discuss your goals, wishes, fears, concerns and highest intentions for the birth of your baby. We will also spend some time preparing for feeding your newborn and putting a postpartum plan together because the birth is just the beginning! You will have access to a number of birth and breastfeeding related books and videos from my lending library as well as receiving referrals and resources from me as needed. These visits are also designed to allow us to spend time together getting to know each other and building our relationship before the big day.

24/7 on-call availability from 38 weeks until your baby is born means I’m just a phone call away no matter what time you think you might be in labor. Yes, even at 3am. Yes, I sleep with my phone next to me.

You also receive continuous emotional, physical and informational support during the entire labor and birth. Once you or your partner asks me to join you, I will come to your home, hospital or birth center and will remain with you until a couple hours after baby is born. I won’t usually leave until all of you are comfortable, had something to eat and are ready for me to tuck you in for the best nap of your life.

1 postpartum visit scheduled a week or so following the birth so I can check in and see how you’re doing physically and emotionally, review the birth, get feedback from you about my role, and admire your beautiful baby. I’m happy to offer any newborn care, babywearing or breastfeeding help while I’m there as well.

I’m also available by phone/text or email to support you the first 6 weeks postpartum- this can be anything from calling because you need to have a good cry to texting me pictures of your baby’s poop diaper when you’re not sure if its normal. I know this sounds weird to you right now but trust me, it’ll make sense soon.
